Season 6 turns Last War:Survival Game from an alliance race into a full faction war, and the mistakes you make in week one follow you to the end. This Last War: Survival Shadow Rainforest guide covers the faction system, War Merit, Altar Conquest, Hero Awakening, and the exact priority order that keeps you competitive. Here is everything you need.

What Is Season 6 Shadow Rainforest in Last War: Survival?

Season 6, also called Lost Rainforest, is the sixth major seasonal chapter. The Great River has been poisoned by a virus, and the Deepwood and Wetland clans are locked in conflict over what remains, with the neutral Great River Clan holding the center of the map.

The big structural change is scale. Eight warzones are split into two factions of four, so you are no longer just fighting rival alliances on your own server. The map is roughly the size of nine Season 0 maps, matching Season 5.

The core loop is straightforward. Produce Spore, spend it on the Fungus Institute to raise Virus Resistance, use Rainforest Mushrooms to expand your Spore economy, and earn War Merit through seasonal activity. Everything else builds on top of that.

How Factions Work in Last War: Survival Season 6?

Eight warzones get grouped first, then assigned to factions. The strongest warzone in each group becomes its Faction Leader during Pre-Season, and those two leaders pick patterns that decide which group becomes Deepwood, which becomes Wetland, and how the final map is arranged.

You do not choose your partners. Individual players and normal alliances have no say in the four warzone grouping, which is why Pre-Season scouting matters. Once the Faction Reveal stage hits on day 4, the grouping menu shows you exactly who you are working with and against.

Season 6 runs a two week Pre-Season before the main season opens, followed by an economy phase, cross warzone expansion, Faction Clash, Altar warfare, Outpost battles, Sanctuary Duels, and settlement.

Last War: Survival Season 6 Resources: Spore, Rainforest Mushroom and War Merit

Three resources drive the season, and treating them as interchangeable leads to bad upgrade decisions.

  • Spore feeds the Fungus Institute and later the Bear, Eagle, and Jaguar Totems. You get it from Spore Factory production, first time Doom Elite kills, Season Quests, Season Goals, Hero’s Return recruitment tickets, and first capture rewards. Leftover Spore converts to Profession EXP at season end.
  • Rainforest Mushroom builds and upgrades Spore Factories. Sources include first time zombie and Doom Elite kills, the daily Doom Walker first kill, visitors at your wall, Season Quests and Goals, first captures, the Battle Pass, and the War Merit Shop. This also converts to Profession EXP at the end.
  • War Merit is both a currency and a running contribution total. This distinction matters more than almost anything else in the season, so it gets its own section below.

Understanding War Merit and War Rank in Last War: Survival

Here is the single most misunderstood mechanic in Season 6. Spending War Merit in the shop does not reduce the accumulated total that drives your Faction War Rank. You can buy what you need without damaging rank progression, and plenty of players sit on War Merit for no reason because they assume otherwise.

You earn War Merit from:

  • First kills on Rainforest Zombies and Doom Elites
  • First captures of Fishing Grounds and Cities
  • Purge Action ranking rewards
  • Beneath the Ruins battles and rankings
  • Fishing donations to Alliance Skills and Faction Technology
  • Reinforcing Cities and supporting faction defense
  • Faction Clash kill and defense rankings
  • Helping destroy enemy faction Cities
  • Season Goals

Higher War Ranks improve your Daily Stipend and unlock War Rank buffs. Push ranks early while first capture and first kill opportunities are still plentiful, because an early promotion pays out over more days of the season. Some top ranks also depend on weekly ranking settlement rather than raw totals alone.

Fungus Institute and Virus Resistance in Last War: Survival Season 6

The Fungus Institute is your most important personal seasonal building. It consumes Spore and raises Virus Resistance, which gates your performance against seasonal enemies and objective defenders.

blog-image-LastWarSurvival_Guide_ShadowRainforestSeason6_EN05

Do not judge fights by squad Power alone. If your Virus Resistance sits below the requirement shown for an enemy or objective, a squad that looks strong on paper will underperform badly.

Prioritize the Institute when you are blocked from a useful zombie or Doom Elite first kill, when your squad takes a heavy resistance penalty against Fishing Ground or City defenders, when your alliance has a major objective opening soon, or when you are close to a Totem unlock milestone.

Spore Factory Strategy in Last War: Survival Season 6

Four permanent Spore Factories are available, numbered I through IV, and the Weekly Pass adds a temporary fifth while active. They cap at level 30 and upgrade using Rainforest Mushrooms.

The unlock requirement for the next Factory is one detail worth checking yourself. Early previews listed level 15, while later live server guides use level 10, so follow whatever your own building interface displays.

The efficient approach is as follows:

  • Build Factory I immediately.
  • Raise it only far enough to unlock Factory II.
  • Repeat until all four permanent Factories are open.
  • Then balance upgrades, buying the cheapest production gains first.
  • Claim production regularly so storage does not silently cap you.

Every day you delay a Factory is production you never recover, which makes this the highest priority investment in the whole season.

Bear, Eagle and Jaguar Totems in Last War: Survival Season 6

Once your Fungus Institute progresses far enough, three vehicle type Totems unlock. Bear supports Tank formations, Eagle supports Aircraft, and Jaguar supports Missile.

Pick the one matching your primary squad and commit. Splitting Spore evenly across all three leaves you with three partial upgrades and no real breakpoints, which is one of the most common ways players waste a season. If you haven’t settled on a main formation yet, check out this Best Hero Formations guide to decide between Tank, Aircraft, and Missile before committing your Spore.

Altar Conquest in Last War: Survival Season 6

Altar Conquest opens during the mid season faction war phase and runs on Tuesdays. Altars sit in the central Great River Clan region, and crucially they do not require adjacent alliance territory to contest, so any alliance can compete for them.

blog-image-LastWarSurvival_Guide_ShadowRainforestSeason6_EN07

ALTAR ROLE
Snake Altar Unlocks an Alliance Skill, available in the first Altar wave
Echo Altar Unlocks an Alliance Skill, available in the first Altar wave
Gust Altar Unlocks later as Altar progression expands
Feather Altar Later season Alliance Skill option
Treehaven Altar Late Altar option with its own Alliance Skill

Rules worth knowing before you commit a rally:

  • An alliance can hold a maximum of three Altars.
  • Some Altar pairs are mutually exclusive, so plan which combination you actually want.
  • The contest window is limited. Partially filling an occupied Altar counts for nothing if you fail to complete the capture.
  • Altar ownership does not create normal connected territory.
  • Choose based on which Alliance Skill fits your faction plan, not which Altar has the highest level.

Cities, Faction Clash and Permanent Destruction in Last War: Survival

Early City Clash works like previous seasons and expands territory normally. Once Faction Clash opens, enemy faction Cities can be destroyed outright rather than occupied, and this is the most consequential rule change in Season 6.

A destroyed City is removed from the season map permanently. It cannot be rebuilt, it stops providing adjacency, and it changes the routes available to both factions for the rest of the season.

Pick destruction targets that cut a route the enemy needs, open or protect a path toward a Sanctuary or Outpost, or remove a City anchoring several enemy connections. Random destruction wastes limited battle windows.

City and owned Fishing Ground battles are restricted to War Declaration Days on Wednesday and Saturday, so plan around that schedule.

Warzone Outposts and Sanctuary Duels in Last War: Survival Season 6

Warzone Outposts are late season connectors around Sanctuary routes. Like Cities, a destroyed Outpost is permanently gone, which makes defending them far more important than in earlier seasons where losses could be replaced.

Sanctuaries are the major warzone objectives, with enemy Sanctuary contests happening on Saturdays during Weeks 5, 6, and 7. Attack eligibility depends on territory access through a direct connection, an Outpost route, or qualifying pact access. Losing your connector before the Duel removes your route at the worst possible moment.

Before a Sanctuary Duel, confirm your route and eligibility before mass teleporting, defend the Outpost or City chain granting access, assign rally and garrison leaders in advance, and save Alliance Skills for high value scoring windows.

Hero Awakening in Last War: Survival Season 6

Hero Awakening is the headline hero progression system this season, and it replaces Exclusive Weapons as the seasonal hero mechanic. Three heroes receive it, one per troop type.

blog-image-LastWarSurvival_Guide_ShadowRainforestSeason6_EN09

HERO TYPE UNLOCK WEEK
Kimberly Tank Week 1
DVA Aircraft Week 3
Tesla Missile Week 5 or 6 depending on server

Awakening replaces the hero’s Expertise skill with an Awakening skill that inherits the original effect and adds new functionality, then opens a separate Awakening star track.

Every Awakening needs three things:

  • The hero at 5 stars
  • That hero’s Exclusive Weapon at level 20 or higher
  • 50 hero specific named Awakening Shards

The Exclusive Weapon requirement is the one that catches people out. If your Kimberly sits at Exclusive Weapon level 18 or 19, you cannot Awaken her no matter how many shards you have stockpiled.

Shard costs by milestone:

MILESTONE CUMULATIVE SHARDS
Initial unlock 50
Awakening Star 1 130
Awakening Star 2 330
Awakening Star 3 680
Awakening Star 4 1,080
Awakening Star 5 1,580

Free shard sources include the Hero Awakening Trial, which gives up to 10 named shards per hero, Global Expedition during that hero’s featured week, and the War Merit Shop in some weeks. After the initial unlock you can also use Universal Awakening Shards.

Do not plan on maxing all three heroes in one season unless you are spending heavily. Pick the hero matching your main formation and commit.

Braz UR Promotion in Last War: Survival Season 6

Braz is the Season 6 SSR to UR promotion hero, with the window opening around Week 3. Requirements are SSR Braz at 5 stars plus one UR Hero Badge, which comes from the 500,000 total War Merit Season Goal.

blog-image-LastWarSurvival_Guide_ShadowRainforestSeason6_EN010

Promotion has real costs worth understanding first. His level is retained, but his star level resets from 5 to 3, his new UR skills start at level 1, and rebuilding from 3 to 5 stars takes 1,600 SSR shards. Skill Medals invested in old skills are mailed back, and eligible Wall of Honor shards return as Braz specific SSR shards, but shards used to build him from 0 to 5 stars are gone.

UR Braz shifts away from his monster focused role toward PvP and faction warfare. Promote him only if you can afford the rebuild before a battle that matters. To see where Braz and other heroes rank overall, check out this Last War: Survival Tier List for the Strongest Heroes.

Tactics Cards in Last War: Survival Season 6

The Season 4 and 5 Hybrid Squad 4+1 card is no longer the defining option. Season 6 adds three Universal cards built for single type formations:

CARD FORMATION EFFECT
Aftermath Burst Missile Improves damage over time effects
Dimensional Crit Tank Raises Crit Rate on the highest Attack Tank hero
Frontal Suppression Aircraft Improves Attack Speed for Aircraft heroes

These matter most for PvP and Global Expedition. Build the card package supporting the same squad as your chosen Totem and Awakening hero.
