How does Combat work in Ethereal Slayer?

In Ethereal Slayer, the combat is quite straight-forward and simplistic. It is easy to learn since it only requires manually tapping on any enemy to target it. Players can then use their basic attacks to take them down in conjunction with their skills. Yes, all of these are rudimentary to understand. You move your character with the help of the virtual keypad located on the left-hand corner. On the right-hand side, the first thing you should notice is the large basic attack button that changes according to the class you have chosen.

Your class is going to impact combat a lot, as there is a ton of difference between all the classes. Some are melee-ranged, which means you will need to cover some distance in order to reach the enemies and strike them down. The long-range class of the Spellcaster proves to be quite beneficial in taking down enemies from afar. Keep in mind, once you have chosen your class, there is no going back.

Skills and their Importance in Ethereal Slayer

Now, coming to the core bread and butter of any class; their active and passive skills: Each class has unique skills that can be active or passive in nature. Active skills need to be triggered manually by clicking on their skill icon located in a crescent-shape over the basic attack button. These skills have a cooldown timer associated with them, and cannot be casted repeatedly over a short duration of time.

Passive skills, on the other hand, remain active all the time, and have no cooldown timer associated with them. As players level up their character more and advance their class, new skills will be gradually made available that you can later choose from in the Skills menu.

AFK Grinding is Key to Success

Being an MMO, you might think that Ethereal Slayer is a very grindy and time-consuming game. But, on the contrary, players can actually progress quite fast if they take advantage of the different quality-of-life features that are present in-game. For starters, the auto-questing and auto-combat features are made available from the get go. This means that you don’t have to waste time manually travelling from one location to the next. Simply click on the quest, and the game’s AI will take you there. If there is combat involved, the AI can also help you deal with enemies via auto-combat.

Lastly, there’s also “AFK” farming or grinding. This feature can be used when you are perhaps done for the day, and still want extra resources. Simply press the big “AFK” button located on the right-hand side, and your character will be directly taken to an area where enemies constantly spawn. AFK farming refers to the process of your character constantly defeating these enemies to get extra resources even while you’re not actively playing the game.
