Once Human: RaidZone Beginner’s Guide – How to Survive the First Steps

Once Human: RaidZone throws you straight into a no-compromise PvP battleground adventure where every player starts on equal footing, but only the sharpest survive. There’s no gear inheritance, no safety nets, and no mercy. When you lose, you drop everything, and someone else walks away richer. As a spin-off from Once Human, this mode strips away long-term grinding and focuses entirely on high-stakes raiding, fast decision-making, and base defense.
Released in Early Access with version 1.6.1, RaidZone reimagines the survival formula into a dedicated open-world map filled with loot, rival players, and constant risk. You begin at level 50 with no prior equipment or advantages, relying solely on what you scavenge, craft, or claim from defeated enemies. The goal isn’t just to stay alive, it’s to grow strong enough to hold your ground in a world where every wall you build could be torn down by someone else.
What is RaidZone About?
In RaidZone, fairness is enforced by a strict reset of your loadout. None of your PvE progress or items carry over, and all weapons, armor, and Deviations are locked to this mode. The Broken Delta serves as the battlefield, modified with new resource points, crate spawns, and fewer PvE distractions. Instead of scripted events, the tension comes from knowing another player might be stalking you just out of sight.
Your Journey in RaidZone starts by dropping into a zone of your choosing.
Loot crates appear on timers: basic crates every 15 minutes, intermediate crates every hour, and advanced crates every four hours. Aerial supply drops glow in the sky, tempting everyone nearby with the promise of Legendary gear but guaranteeing a fight. Memory Chips, found in almost all loot, are the currency for unlocking Memetics and improving your loadout.
One of the defining features of RaidZone is The Hollow, a dangerous high-reward zone, which accelerates the scenario’s destruction while offering the best resources for those who dare to enter. You basically can’t build or survive in there for long, so make sure to prepare thoroughly before venturing beyond. And remember: Don’t overstay your welcome!
How Do Buildings and Territory Work in RaidZone?
Base building in RaidZone is about practicality over aesthetics. You can set up to three Territory Terminals, but relocation is disabled, so your choice of location matters. Structures are vulnerable to raids during set hours, and even if you’re offline, your base can still be attacked. However, structures are completely invulnerable from midnight to noon every day, to avoid destruction when players might be at work or otherwise occupied during the day. Nevertheless, players are still vulnerable at any time, even while offline, so it’s better to find a safe place to log off when you’re done playing for the day.
Your territory is always safe at nights, but after noon everything is fair game.
Players can and will destroy each other’s defenses. Well-placed traps, layered walls, and controlled choke points can buy you precious seconds during an assault. While there’s no vehicle summoning in this mode, stolen or crafted vehicles still allow for fast movement between key loot points and bases.
What’s New With Combat and Deviations in RaidZone?
Every player’s toolkit expands with Deviations, special abilities that can turn the tide of a fight. In RaidZone, each Deviation has a quick-use skill and a powerful ultimate with a longer cooldown. Abilities like summoning Manibus can deal massive area damage and even open a Hollow, forcing chaos onto the battlefield. Choosing when to unleash these abilities can be the difference between securing loot or watching it fall into enemy hands.
Combat still consists mostly of looting and shooting in RaidZone
Weapons range from bows and axes for early skirmishes to sniper rifles and explosives for late-game sieges. Since gear progression is tied to looting, staying mobile and avoiding prolonged downtime is key to staying ahead.
Getting Started in RaidZone
For newcomers, the smartest move is to find a low-traffic area for your first base. Teaming up with others can speed up your progression and give you coverage during raid windows, as well as give you a better chance when it comes to the PvP in RaidZone. Avoid rushing straight into The Hollow without proper gear. Instead, build up your arsenal from crate routes and smaller engagements.
Greatness comes from small beginnings in RaidZone.
Every decision in RaidZone comes with risk. Whether you’re opening a crate, firing the first shot, or placing your base, there’s always a chance someone else is watching. The players who thrive are the ones who balance aggression with caution, knowing when to fight and when to pull back.
Once Human: RaidZone is all about constant tension and the thrill of survival without safety nets. And if you want the best way to experience it with smoother controls and better precision, you can play Once Human on PC with BlueStacks for an edge in every battle.
