The spooky season has arrived in Standoff 2, and this year’s event brings a colorful twist inspired by Mexican style Halloween celebrations. The new Día de Muertos update titled as “Version 0.36.0” mixes festive decorations, vibrant skins, and a chilling new game mode that’s sure to test your nerves. Here’s everything you need to know.

The Hunt – New Game Mode

The biggest highlight of the Día de Muertos update is The Hunt, a special 5-player mode that pits four survivors against one deadly huntress named Rosa Mortal. It’s a mix of horror and teamwork, where communication and quick decisions decide who lives and who doesn’t. The new game mode allows players to play as one of 2 roles – Survivor or Huntress (Rosa Mortal). Each role has their own objectives that players will need to fulfil.

Playing as a Survivor in the Hunt

As a survivor, your goal is simple: activate five of six generators, open the gate, and make your escape before time runs out. But with Rosa on your trail, it’s easier said than done. Here’s what you need to know about survivor mechanics:

  • Stand near a generator to start powering it up. While doing so, you’ll trigger a Quick Time Event, where you must hit the correct buttons at the right moment to continue progress.
  • If Rosa interrupts you, don’t panic as your progress is saved, and your teammates can continue where you left off.
  • Look for lockers around the map that contain weapons and grenades. These tools can help slow Rosa down or even take her out if you play smart.
  • Teamwork is everything. Spread out, repair generators, and use distractions to buy time for your teammates.

Winning as a survivor feels rewarding because every second counts. Whether you manage to escape or help others do so, you’ll earn XP and rewards for your efforts.

Playing as the Huntress in the Hunt

The Huntress (Rosa Mortal) is the star of this mode. She is tall, fast, and terrifying to say the least. As the huntress, your mission is to hunt down the survivors and stop them from completing the generators. Here’s what you need to know about Rosa’s abilities:

  • She has increased health, enhanced speed, and strong melee attacks that can take survivors down quickly.
  • Rosa can use special grenades that slow down enemies, and she regains one grenade after every kill.
  • She can destroy generators by standing near them, undoing the survivors’ progress.
  • Rosa also has access to teleportation portals, allowing her to move around the map instantly and keep survivors guessing.

Winning as the huntress is all about pressure and control. Keep the survivors split up, use your portals wisely, and break generators before they can finish them.

New Maps: Ritual Arena and Sanctum

The new Hunt game mode is going to be played on 2 new maps:

  • Ritual Arena is a reworked version of the classic Arena map, filled with dark and eerie details.
  • Sanctum is completely new and built for this mode, offering a maze-like layout that keeps both Rosa and the survivors on edge.

New Battle Pass: Día de Muertos Edition

A new update always means a new Battle Pass, and this one is packed with items that embrace the festive theme of Día de Muertos. Much like past battle passes, this one also features a free pass and gold pass (premium).

Gold Battle Pass

For those looking for something extra, the Gold Pass is available for 1200 Gold. It comes with a wider range of Halloween-themed rewards, including exclusive weapon skins and knives. Every 45 levels, players can earn a new knife, making this one of the most exciting Battle Passes in recent memory.

The Halloween fun continues with the Spin Día de Muertos event, which comes with new activities, missions, and a chance to earn rare collectibles. This event is divided into 3 parts – Spin, Arms Dealer, and Contract.
